چکیده
The present work focuses on investigating the residence time behavior of microparticles in a concurrent downer reactor through experiments and numerical simulations. For simulations, three-dimensional multiphase model was developed using Euler-Lagrange approach. were performed 0.8 m-long steel with gravitational particle injection. effects different operating conditions, e.g., sheath gas velocity distribution assessed. An increase flow rate led to decrease peak time, although maximum increased. Regarding lowest rate, particles’ twice as high compared within highest rate. curves presented broad coinciding size powder. results agreed experimental data; thus, this study presents for predicting reactor. Furthermore, simulations contributed better understanding inside which is essential optimizing thermal rounding processes. Dimensionless correlations observed are developed.

Multi-Time Euler-Lagrange Dynamics∗
This paper introduces new types of Euler-Lagrange PDEs required by optimal control problems with performance criteria involving curvilinear or multiple integrals subject to evolutions of multidimensional-flow type. Particularly, the anti-trace multi-time Euler-Lagrange PDEs are strongly connected to the multi-time maximum principle. Section 1 comments the limitations of classical multi-variable...
متن کاملFlow Simulation in a 2D Bubble Column with the Euler-lagrange and Euler-euler Method
Method: The presented EL method uses the open access software OpenFOAM to solve bubble dynamics with bubble interactions computed via Monte Carlo methods. The estimated bubble size distribution and the predicted hold-up are compared with experimental data and other simulative EE work with a reasonable consensus for both. Benchmarks with state of the art EE simulations shows that the EL approach...
متن کاملA Model For The Residence Time Distribution and Holdup Measurement in a Two Impinging Streams Cyclone Reactor/Contactor in Solid-Liquid Systems
In this paper a two impinging streams cyclone contacting system suitable for handling of solid-liquid systems has been studied. Certain pertinent parameters such as: solid holdup, mean residence time and Residence Time Distribution (RTD) of solid particles have been investigated. A stochastic model based on Markov chains processes has been applied which describe the behavior of solid partic...
متن کاملSolids Residence Time Distribution in a Three-Phase Bubble Column Reactor: An Artificial Neural Network Analysis
Residence time distribution (RTD) study of solids in a three-phase pilot-scale bubble column photoreactor has been carried out in order to provide data for the development of an artificial neural network model usable for process optimisation. The experimental data indicated that the RTD of solids was a complex nonlinear function of gas and liquid velocities as well as the contacting pattern (co...
متن کاملAn Euler-Lagrange strategy for simulating particle-laden flows
In this work, a strategy capable of simulating polydisperse flows in complex geometries is employed where the fluid transport equations are solved in an Eulerian framework and the dispersed phase is represented as Lagrangian particles. Volume filtered equations for the carrier phase are derived in detail for variable density flows, and all unclosed terms are discussed. Special care is given to ...
